Dotson Schaefer is an up and coming Texas Country artist, drawing from folk, rock and country to mold his sound. His Arkansas roots are the main source of his methodical lyrics, combined with his current Texas residency. ‘Cove Creek’ was a song he wanted minimalistic and full of ambience. Notes of Chris Stapleton can be felt in the song’s warm tones as he sings in a lonesome fashion about a creek near where he grew up and the way it calls to him during heartbreak.

Dotson also worked with us on the second single, ‘Two Spanish Doves’, of this multi-release. Recorded live by Connor Tyra even before Anthem began, this one-take track shows off Dotson’s rugged and rootsy sound. Connor is featured on the harmonica here as Dotson takes the lead on this sensitive Americana track.
